A trend seems to be forming in the Ivy League for gap years that may have an effect on the applicant pool for the Class of 2025. As we reported, Harvard’s number of admitted students deferring enrollment for the year have more than tripled this year, which may leave fewer seats in the following class to be admitted. Now The Yale Daily News reports that only 80% of students will be enrolling in fall 2020.

Is your student’s first-choice college following this trend? If you’re feeling uneasy about the added competitiveness in this year’s admissions process, especially for top colleges, contact an advisor from the Ivy Link team for help strategizing your child’s college admissions (including gap year advising).
