University of Pennsylvania Class Of '27 Admissions Roundup

For the Class of 2027, University of Pennsylvania (UPenn) has accepted 2,400 students from a pool of over 59,000 applicants for an overall acceptance rate of roughly 4.07%.

These figures are estimates as UPenn has not released exact figures for this cycle. So we don’t know how many of these students were accepted Early Decision compared to Regular Decision. But what we can tell you is that this year’s application pool set a record for the university leading to a highly competitive year in admissions.

If and when UPenn releases exact figures, we will let you know. Check back for updates.

Fun Facts:

  • It is a tradition to throw toast on the field during all home football games during the line “Here’s a toast to dear old Penn” in a school fight song. The toast tradition dates back to prohibition, when the school banned alcohol. The students cheekily began to take the toast cue a bit more literally.

  • It is a freshman myth to never cross the compass that is embedded into the center of Locust Walk or else you will fail your first set of midterms. Allegedly, the myth was created by a fraternity as a conversation starter with freshmen women.
