Lowest Acceptance Rate in Yale History: Class of '28
This was a HIGHLY competitive year at Yale. In fact, this year marks the lowest acceptance rate in the history of the university!
For the Class of 2028, Yale accepted 2,146 students from a pool of 57,465 applications for an acceptance rate of 3.73%. This is down .65 percent from last year’s 4.35% acceptance rate.
To break this down a bit, the university accepted 709 students in the Restrictive Early Action round from a pool of 7,856 for an acceptance rate of 11.08%. In the Regular Decision round, they accepted 1,365 students from a pool of 49,609 for an acceptance rate of 2.75%.
As always, if Yale is your top-choice college, we highly recommend applying in the Restrictive Early Action round for a significantly higher chance of admission.
