Harvard Admissions Round-up (Class of 2026)

Harvard broke its own record this year, with an overall acceptance rate of 3.19%. This correlates with a second cycle of a massive (for Harvard) application pool: 61,220 for the 2021-22 cycle, and 57,435 last year.

A total of 1,214 students received their acceptance letters on March 31st for Regular Decision, and 740 students were accepted via Early Action in December. As is always the case with Harvard, we expect student yield to be quite high. We might even see a spike in yield, as Harvard has announced that it will cover the full cost of attendance — including tuition, room and board, and all fees — for students whose families make under $75,000.

Additional Stats

  • 20.3% of admitted students will be the first in their families to go to college, down slightly from 20.7 the previous year

  • 20.5% of admitted students are eligible for Pell Grants, up from 20.4 the previous year

  • Women make up the majority of admitted students (54.2%) — an increase from 52.9 percent last year. This marks the fifth year in row that women are the majority of newly admitted students

We are still waiting to learn the number of students who chose to submit ACT or SAT scores, as well as the average score of those who chose to submit.
