Business Insider Releases ChatGPT Essays
In a recent post, we wrote about how AI technology might be good, but not good enough to craft a personal essay that would get you into any of the top 50 colleges. In an interview with Business Insider, Ivy Link’s founder, Adam Nguyen, read and assigned grades to a couple of essays written by the AI. In case you forgot, the compositions were B-work at best.
This week, Business Insider publicly released the essays written by the AI. If you’re curious, you can follow the link. As you will see, the essays are cliche, superficial, and worst of all, predictable.
We’ve said this before, and we will say it again until we are blue in the face: AI CANNOT compete with human experience and emotion. They can’t provide insight to your experiences nor can it think critically about what it is writing. All of these qualities are considered extremely important to the admissions officers reading your essays.
So, if you’re still thinking about having an AI write your admissions essay, think again.
