Brown Admissions Round-up (Class of 2026)

This week, Brown offered admission to 1,651 students from the Regular Decision pool of 45,862 applicants. Combined with the 896 students accepted via Early Decision, this brings the total acceptances to 2,547 with a record-low overall acceptance rate of 5%.

Like the other Ivies, Brown has experienced a massive spike in applicants due in large part to the test-optional policy, which has been extended to the 2022-23 application cycle. No word yet on whether or not they will bring back testing requirements beyond next year. Another contributing factor to the continued rise in application numbers could be the October 2021 announcement that Brown will cover tuition costs for students whose families earn less than $125,000 per year. Once fully implemented, it seems that students who are granted aid under the new program will also have the cost of textbooks and room and board covered. Where that line is drawn is not clear at this time.

Stay tuned as we learn more about Brown’s class of 2026.
