Williams College Class of '27 Admissions Roundup

Williams College has released their Class of 2027 admissions results. And the data is a bit shocking. In the Regular Decision round, the college accepted 858 students, or 8.3%, from a pool of 10,315 applications. The shocking part of this is not the acceptance rate, but that the pool of applications is down almost a quarter from last year’s numbers. As we’ve discussed before, college applications are down everywhere, but it’s still surprising to see the actual numbers.

The 858 students accepted in this round join the 255 students accepted during the Early Decision round, making the total acceptance for the Class of 2027 a respectable 1,113 students, or 9.8% of the total application pool. Additionally, the college offered 1,970 students a place on the waitlist. Generally, the college accepts an average of 35 students from the waitlist. So, if you find yourself on the waitlist, check out our blog post to see what steps you should take to increase your chances of admission.

Fun Fact: Williams College is the first college in the country to provide an “all-grant” financial aid package. This means that students no longer have to rely on student loans. Instead, the college provides four years worth of financial aid grants to all accepted students! This is a commendable approach to making education affordable for students!
