Vanderbilt Admissions Round-up (Class of 2026)
The results are in for Vanderbilt, and it was just as competitive there as it was at its peer schools (at least for Regular Decision). Out of 41,610 Regular Decision applicants only 1,964 were offered admission, for an RD acceptance rate of 4.7%. It’s interesting to see how many students Vanderbilt expects to accept offers and matriculate, as they cap their first-year class at 1,600, and they already offered binding admission to approximately 900 students between ED I and ED II. Moral of this story is that if you really want to attend Vanderbilt, apply ED I since this past cycle had an acceptance rate of 24.1%.
Additional Stats
While we don’t know the exact number of students who chose to submit test scores this cycle, but we do know that those who did and were admitted, had very impressive scores:
SAT Middle 50% Evidence-Based Reading and Writing: 740-780
SAT Middle 50% Math: 770-800
ACT Middle 50%: 34-36
As of now, Vanderbilt has extended the test-optional policy through the class of 2028 (2023-24 application cycle). We don’t expect to hear an update on the policy until at least 2023.
