June 6 SAT & Subject Tests Canceled
Previously, the College Board canceled the May 2, 2020 administration of the SAT and Subject Tests in response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Today, the College Board has announced that the June 6, 2020 administration of the SAT and Subject Tests has been canceled, as well.
Registered students will receive refunds or may register for future test dates. The College Board will provide weekend SAT administrations every month through the end of the calendar year, beginning in August. This includes a new administration in September and the previously scheduled tests on August 29, October 3, November 7, and December 5. Students can register for these administrations starting in May.
There is a chance that the College Board might still cancel future test dates if in-person testing is not safe from a public health standpoint. Ivy Link advises our students who are preparing for the June administration of the SAT and Subject Tests to continue to wait until May to register for August test dates.
In the unlikely event that schools do not reopen this fall, the College Board will provide a digital SAT for home use, similar to how the College Board is offering digital AP Exams this spring. A digital, remote version of the SAT would be similar to the paper version and test similar concepts and skills.
Ivy Link expects changes to testing will likely occur in the coming weeks/months, and we will continue to monitor developments as they relate to the coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis and will advise our students accordingly. The College Board’s announcements can be found here.
