Mass Cancellations for August SAT
As of August 18th, New York State announced the closures of 46% of testing centers, leaving approximately 178,600 students forced to cancel their registration for the SAT and SAT Subject Tests scheduled for August 29th.
The closures follow continued precautionary measures surrounding COVID-19. Currently 54% of testing centers are open, however 46% of which are already at capacity. As a result, the College Board has already reached out to colleges to remind them to be lenient in this particularly challenging time. The College Board has asked colleges to extend their deadlines for receiving standardized testing scores while also not penalizing those who are unable to take the test altogether because of COVID-related cancellations.
The most important thing to maintain in a time of uncertainty, is routine. Check the College Board site to check the official status of your testing center if you’re registered for the SAT or SAT Subject Tests, and contact an expert from the Ivy Link advisory team to help you stay motivated, confident, and prepared.
