For the Class of 2027, Yale admitted 1,433 students for the Regular Decision round from a pool of 44,506 applications for an acceptance rate of 3.2%. 

These students join the 776 students admitted during the Early Action round from a pool of 7,744 for an acceptance rate of 10%.

Looking at the overall numbers, Yale accepted 2,275 students from a pool of 52,250 applications, the largest pool ever in the history of the university, for an overall acceptance rate of 4.35%. This is the lowest acceptance rate in its history.

Fun Facts:

  • 45 U.S. presidents, 52 Nobel laureates, 19 U.S. Supreme Court justices, and 13 current billionaires have all graduated from Yale. 

  • Yale is home to the ultra-exclusive society known as the Skull and Cross Bones. Each year, 15 male and female juniors are selected for admission. William Howard Taft, John Kerry, and both George Bushes are known to be members.
